Illegals caught near Study Butte

On July 15 Brewster County deputies received a call of four individuals walking along Highway 118 north of Study Butte. Upon conducting a welfare check on the individuals, it was determined they entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico. They were referred to U.S. Border Patrol agents for processing. Courtesy photo

Illegals apprehended

On July 12 Brewster County deputies, along with K9 Latek and U.S. Border Patrol agents, responded to a call from a concerned citizen south of Marathon reporting a group of suspicious persons who approached his residence.

He leaves behind a devoted family - his wife Trish; his daughter and son-in-law Cristy and David Schuler; his dear grandsons Jack and Jett Philpott; his brother Pete and wife Rose and their children Gary, Petey, Jennifer, and Mandy; his brother-in-law Bain Ward and wife Jackie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
