Dear Neil: I remember reading about something we could apply in spring to prevent sticker burrs. What is it, and when do we apply it? You are talking about pre-emergent weed killers, so named because you apply them before the weed seeds actually germinate, or emerge.

Ingredients: 1 or 2 large bunches of fresh basil 2 ripe avocados 1/4 cup walnuts or hemp seeds 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice 3 cloves garlic 1/2 tsp.

Myrtle Ann was born June 22, 1938, in Billings, Mont, the daughter of Frank and Doris Corwin Greenough. Her father was the cow boss on the Antler Ranch, and she began school in Wyola, Mont.
