Bringing back the faith

Body
It’s a time of new beginnings in Alpine with practicing the faith and growing in relationship with neighbors, and building strong relationships through discussion and reflection. That is the mission Alpine natives Dorinna Tanksley and Elva Torres are set to do at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church as the new co-directors take over the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults program.

PET OF THE WEEK

Body
Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Hannah, a funny, flirty four-month-old female cat who will be on the smaller side. She loves to tease and flirt, but doesn’t always let you pet her until it is her idea. Then the fun starts, and it is a race to the toys or you or whatever gets her attention first.

Painters in Presidio

Body
Border Patrol Agent Janenne Ellis knows a thing or two about heat. That’s because she works on the border at Presidio Border Patrol Station, an area which is generally 10 degrees warmer than Big Bend Sector Headquarters in nearby Marfa. She also knows that sometimes the best way to get through the day is to “brush it off.”
