Art and Empire, 1846-1861

Body
As discussed last month, the period from the war with Mexico to the Civil War was a great age of exploration of the American West. The Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo (1848) ceded California and the Southwest to the U.S., and the Treaty of Oregon with Great Britain (1846) essentially established the borders of the new American nation. It was now time to survey the vast interior, and discover its hidden treasurers.

Youth group pumped up for conference

Body
Running a church involves a healthy dose of prayer, hard work, and a dedicated team, and church youth groups are a fantastic way for young people to get together. They support one another in friendship, and share in fellowship, joining other like-minded teens and young adults to bring the inspiring message of God.
