Climbing Christmas Mountain

Body A drive to the top of the Christmas Mountains range, located in south Brewster County, is not for the faint of heart. It’s the only unpaved, four-wheel drive road open to the public in Brewster County with major elevation gains of almost 2,000 feet.

Body Sul Ross State University’s Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences and Rodeo Exes gathered in Alpine July 23-25 for their annual reunion, and a golf tournament was among the many weekend activities. The winning golf team received buckles for their efforts.

Crisis Center receives Swalm grant

Body The Texas Council on Family Violence on July 15 announced recipients of more than $300,000 to 12 domestic violence agencies across Texas via its 2021 Swalm Grants, with 91% of the grants matching 100% of the recipients’ requested amounts.

Free family days at Chinati
