Body The Friends of the Post in Marathon have announced their Independence Day celebration. Festivities will begin Saturday, July 6 at 10 a.m.

Body According to a press release issued by Captain Felipe Fierro of the Alpine Police Department, this past Sunday morning, June 16, Alpine Police officers were dispatched to Big Bend Regional Medical Center regarding a 21-year-old male who suffered multiple stab wounds.

Body The Big Bend Regional Hospital District held its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, May 30. The meeting was held at the Alpine Public Library due to debris and the smell of smoke still in their office because of the structure fire earlier in the week.

Body A pair of well-dressed students sit in a classroom, whispering to each other in hushed and urgent tones, shuffling papers, scratching down notes on legal pads, and looking through “the box.” Another pair of students sit across from them, waiting silently.

Body The Alpine City Council held its regularly scheduled meeting last Tuesday, June 4 at 5:30 p.m. Due to the large turnout of citizens, the meeting was held in the Alpine Civic Center because it exceeded the capacity of the council chambers.
