Looking forward to doing business in Alpine

Body
We’ve found it’s impossible to build a new business from the ground up without learning some hard lessons. The things my family has gained over the past year from architects, consultants, city officials, and Alpine citizens have led to significant changes in the initial design of the Chisos Brewing Co.

Will the “slight recession” now predicted by President Biden be the equivalent of the “small incursion” by Russia into Ukraine he thought he could overlook? Sanctions to punish Saudi Arabia for tightening the oil supply? The Saudis foresee a major recession, and are not going to glut the marketplace with oil that will not get consumed. Does that help Russian oil prices? Of course.

Murphy Street a large part of history

Lisa and Guy Fielder are owners of property on Murphy Street. They are proposing to build a brewery on their property. New business on Murphy Street is very welcomed. The Fielders have spoken to me about being part of the neighborhood. That also is very welcomed. Their vision, though, I believe, is not what our neighborhood and Historic Murphy Street is.

Marfa voters beware Marfa voters beware of the information being put out by the administration. The reason a bond is even being considered is because little to no maintenance has been performed to correct existing problems.

Dedication deserving an extra jewel

Talking with friends last week when the topic of preachers came up got me thinking about them - individuals with rare dedication deserving of an extra jewel in their crowns. God love them, especially those who keep ministering to a faithful few every Sunday in small congregations.

Probably not Ghostbusters, but who knows, they may be able to help us. All kidding aside, suppose you have a water leak, or you see one while driving around? Or imagine that you want to report a pothole, or put in a request for the streets department. Suppose that pothole is on one of our highways such as 118 or 90, or along the one ways. Do you see some trees that need trimming or watering? Who do you call regarding a utility bill?
