The Alpine High School boys’ varsity basketball team didn’t lose its edge during the Thanksgiving break. After their scheduled Monday, November 24, matchup with Marfa was canceled, the Fightin’ Bucks had a full week to rest, reset, and sharpen their game. When they returned to the court on Tuesday, December 2, against Van Horn, they looked every bit like a team on a mission.

Mule deer populations have decreased, with last winter’s surveys showing the lowest numbers since 2005. However, this year, thanks to timely rain, antler development should still be good, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife Mule Deer and Pronghorn Development leader Shawn Gray.
