Rain keeps county road, bridge crews busy

The Brewster County Commissioners Court held their regularly scheduled meeting last Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. with reports from the road and bridge department about keeping busy due to recent rain, auction profit updates on surplus items, and budgeting concerns.

Texas Mountain Trail leads to adventure

The Texas Heritage Trails Program was the brainchild of former governor of Texas John Connally. In 1968, in conjunction with the HemisFair, Connally, along with the Texas Highway Department now Texas Department of Transportation established 10 scenic driving trails in Texas. In 1997, the state legislature tasked the historical commission to create a statewide heritage tourism program. Their response was a program based on local, regional, and state partnerships centered around the 10 driving trails created by Connally.
Located in Big Bend National Park along the banks of the Rio Grande, the Hot Springs Historic District are remnants to the testament of early settlement in the Big Bend. This particular building was built by J.O. Langford and served as the Post Office for the resort he built in the early 1900s. Sul Ross soccer offers newly remodeled complex

The Sul Ross Men’s and Women’s Soccer Programs are proud to announce the opening of their newly remodeled soccer complex. The redeveloped, fanfriendly stadium features a front entry portal to greet fans, an awning to protect the faithful from rain, and sun, a railing separating the fans from the playing surface, updated windscreen, brand new world cup style goals and nets, bench coverings for the players and coaches, as well as a new storage shed.
