Not normal times

COVID impacted just about everybody in the world in some way.And everyone was anxious to get back to normal as the virus ran its course. While most of the public health mandates have ended, there is still a lingering sense that things are not quite back to normal. There are just way too many disturbing trends to think we are back to business as usual despite our normalcy bias that would have us think so. Normal isn’t coming back, Jesus is!

Ingredients: 1 package of frozen Quicksteak chicken ½ cup salsa or chile macho (optional) 1/8 teaspoon lime pepper or half the juice of a fresh squeezed lime Warm corn or flour tortillas Shredded cheese ¼ cup chopped onions (optional) Shredded lettuce, shredded cabbage, and diced tomatoes (optional) Sour cream (optional) Directions: Cook the package of Quicksteak chicken according to directions on the package.

The Brewster County commissioner’s court held a special meeting on Friday, August 11. During this meeting, the first item addressed on the agenda was the real estate property that the county has been in the process of purchasing. As of Friday, the property was still in need of inspection, which has been arranged.

This never say die attitude is what founded our little neck of the woods; after all, you must be tough to settle and survive far West Texas.
