Legislative budget writers are proposing nearly $5 billion to increase teacher pay and $1 billion to implement a school voucher program in the next biennium, the Austin American Statesman reported. The Alpine Lady Bucks came out swinging in their first softball scrimmage of the season, traveling to El Paso to take on the Riverside Rangers on Saturday, January 25. It was a powerful start for the Lady Bucks, who delivered a statement win with a 15-4 rout of the 5A varsity squad.
