AISD bids emotional farewell to longtime trustee

The Alpine ISD Board of Trustees met for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 21, in the Board Room at the Administration Building. With all members present, Board President Eddie Natera, Single Member District 1, presided over an evening that balanced emotional goodbyes, critical infrastructure updates, and celebrations of student success.

Commissioners tackle dark skies, deadly flies

On Tuesday, the Brewster County Commissioners Court held its regular meeting in the commissioner’s courtroom at the Brewster County Courthouse. All commissioners except Precinct 3 Commissioner Ruben Ortega were present, with County Judge Greg Henington presiding. Though the agenda was relatively light, it included lively discussions on several pressing issues, such as a renewed burn ban, dark-sky protections, and concerns about the resurgence of screwworms.
