On July 16, long-time Fort Davis resident Charles Prude was recognized by the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association by being inducted into the Association’s Hall of Honor after decades of dedication to the field of Sports Medicine and Athletic Training.

The Alpine City Council held its regular meeting last Tuesday, July 15. The meeting was presided over by Mayor Catherine Eaves, and all council members were present, with Ward 5 Councilor Rick Stephens participating via Zoom.

The Alpine Emergency Services Board met on July 10 with all board members present. As there was no public comment after the meeting was called to order, the focus was on Alpine Volunteer Fire Department training and the preparation of a budget to present to the Alpine City Council and Brewster County.

Brewster County Commissioners Court met for its regular session on Tuesday at the Brewster County Courthouse. All commissioners were present, with Brewster County Judge Greg Henington presiding over the meeting.

HEAD OVER MEALS During a recent trip to the local grocery store, a large tub of crumbled blue cheese was observed in the dairy case. Having not partaken of this tart, cheesy delight in some time, it quickly ended up in the shopping cart.
