Editor’s Note: This is part two of a two-part series from last week’s edition. In a continuation of last week’s city council meeting held on Tuesday, May 5, at 5:30 p.m., the City of Alpine concluded that the only step forward was to drill a new well to replace the Roberts 3 well that has failed.

Early voting for the 2026 primary runoff election begins on Monday, May 18, and will continue through Friday, May 22, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Val Clark Beard Office Complex located at 203 N. 7th Street in Alpine, where voting for all precincts will take place.

The Brewster County Commissioner’s Court met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. All commissioners were present.
