In this week before Christmas, we see a flurry of activity. In the hustle and bustle, we can easily lose sight of the profound mystery we are to celebrate: God Himself entering our broken world to rescue us.

I will never forget the first time I tried chilaquiles on the beaches of Mexico. I was younger then, and more than likely feeling the effects of a night that had gone a little too hard — exactly as one should in their 20s, especially in Mexico.

Last Tuesday, December 9, just prior to the Brewster County Commissioners’ meeting, both the Alpine City Council and the commissioners met to discuss the future of ground EMS (ambulance) service for Alpine and the immediate surrounding area in Brewster County.
