According to the United Nations, there are 195 countries in the world. Have you ever heard of the ACLED? That stands for the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data. It started in 2005 with Dr. Clionadh Raleigh at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She led the study of all the “Armed Conflicts” going on in our world. This year, 2025, they have already reported 110 armed conflicts occurring simultaneously worldwide. Most of them are small and don’t make the six o’clock News, but 110 wars are happening today, between different groups of people.
