For 39 years, the Museum of the Big Bend has been honored to showcase works of art created by the men and women who live and embody the cowboy lifestyle in Trappings of Texas. Once again, artists along with art connoisseurs will gather for this celebration in the newest addition to the Museum of the Big Bend, the Emmett and Miriam McCoy Building.

he Trappings of Texas exhibit and sale at the Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine celebrates the work of Western artists and gear makers. It is the longest-running event of its kind in the country. Trappings showcases the diversity and originality of classic and contemporary Western art by bringing together up-and-coming artists with established artists who know the ranching lifestyle.

Remembering 9/11

Today is September 11th, and our thoughts once more turn to the remembrance of this horrendous act, which was for many a very sad and gruesome awakening to the horrifying impact of terrorism. Tragically, since then, violence and terrorism have escalated, the death toll continues to rise, and the displacement of people grows.
