Dear Neil, I planted the tall version of purple ruellia a few years ago. It’s beautiful and takes no care. However, it’s spreading like wildfire. It even sends runners up underground into my planters, and it’s taking over my ground covers. I can’t imagine digging them all out. I do not use pesticides. Do you have any ideas?

Gov. Greg Abbott just before the midnight deadline Sunday vetoed a bill on THC products and said he would call a special legislative session to regulate products containing the substance, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The veto angered the bill’s chief champion, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.

U.S. Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Ben Ray Luján (DNM) and Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX23) released the following statements after the Big Bend National Park Boundary Adjustment Act, which would authorize the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) to acquire around 6,100 acres of land along the western boundary of the park, passed the Senate unanimously.
