It’s been 100 years since F. Scott Fitzgerald penned and published The Great Gatsby. This iconic novel portrays the American Dream of wealth and the social decay of the Roaring 20s, and what better way to pay homage to Fitzgerald’s work or that time in history than to re-create some of the eats and drinks of the time.

INGREDIENTS Cooking spray 2 pints vanilla ice cream, softened 1-pint raspberry sorbet, softened 1 (9-ounce) package chocolate wafer cookies, crushed (about 2 ½ cups) 1 cup heavy cream 3 tablespoons powdered sugar 1 package of fresh raspberries DIRECTIONS Lightly coat a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray. Line with parchment paper, making sure all sides are fully covered and leaving a 2-inch overhang on all sides.

It was a shock to wake up on the morning of April 21, 2025, to the news that Pope Francis had died from a stroke. It should have come as no surprise, considering the pontiff’s illness and the amount of his activity during Holy Week and Easter Sunday. He mentioned how grateful he was to return to St. Peter’s Square, where thousands of believers gathered near the Vatican, during Holy Week.
