HEAD OVER MEALS Sunday Funday is just around the corner, and with it comes the season’s football finale: the Superbowl. This means football squares and feasts, and there’s never been a Superbowl party without great food! Some of these celebrations include full-on meals, with the boys hitting the grill on the patio or in the backyard while the ladies take over the kitchen, whipping up appetizers and sides to accompany whatever comes off the pit.

INSTANT POT JALAPENOCHICKEN POPPER DIP

INGREDIENTS 8-ounces of softened cream cheese Four jalapeno peppers, seeded and diced One cup shredded, cooked chicken One green onion, chopped 1/2 cup real bacon bits 1/2 cup water One cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1/2 cup sour cream DIRECTIONS Combine cream cheese, jalapeno peppers, chicken, green onion, bacon bits, and water in a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as an InstantPot). Close and lock the lid, select the manual setting, and set the timer for 5 minutes.

INGREDIENTS DIRECTIONS Two 10-ounce cans of chicken, drained 3/4 cup of Frank’s RedHot hot sauce Two 8-ounce packages of softened cream cheese One cup of ranch dressing 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese One bunch of celery cut into 4-inch pieces One box of chicken-flavored crackers or chips of choice Heat chicken and hot sauce in a skillet over medium heat until heated, around 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in cream cheese and ranch dressing.

Born to Domingo Benavidez and Lorenza Abreo Rosa, Minerva was preceded in death by both her parents, sisters Adelinda and Yolanda; brothers Alfredo, Mario, and Gilberto; son Juan Luis; her loving partner of 31 years, Jesus Franco; and greatgrandchildren Jack, Autumn, Witten, Kailee, and Jayden.
