Far West Texas landowner seminar to take place in April

A seminar for West Texas landowners will be conducted on Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the conference room at Big Bend Telephone. This seminar is being offered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and lunch will be provided by Capital Farm Credit.

WEEK Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Luna. Luna enjoys love and attention along with walks, exercise, and playtime. She is a little sassy, but it’s part of her charm. She would like a good playmate to run and wrestle with. She is loving and outgoing. Come meet this cutie pie at the Alpine Animal Shelter. Plan your Lent dinner with our fundraiser for the Alpine Humane Society. A cheese enchilada plate with rice, beans, and salad, on Friday, March 22, at the American Legion will be served. Come early, limited quantities are available from 5 p.m. until sold out. Stay tuned for details on our upcoming fundraiser on April 6, Messages from the Rainbow Bridge, Sara Cash, social worker, grief therapist, and reiki practitioner will use her mediumship gifts to relay messages of love and healing from our departed pets for a select group of participants. Alpine Animal Services handles pet adoptions at the city shelter, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at 2900 E. Old Marathon Highway. Dear Neil: How long do I have to wait to know if my lavender lantanas are going to come back after the winter? Trailing lavender lantanas are perhaps the least winterhardy types that we grow. It doesn’t take a very harsh Texas winter to kill out their crowns.
