PET OF THE WEEK

Body
WEEK Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Hazel. This sweet gal has been at the shelter since November 2023. She was found stray, but it seemed like someone cared for her at some point. Heat sources pertinent to plant protection in greenhouses

Body
Dear Neil: I have a 3-year-old Meyer lemon tree that I have protected for the winter with a large 8x6x8ft. collapsible greenhouse. It has two large “windows” on the sides and two large zipper doors at each end that I leave open in the daytime, and then zip closed if temperatures are going to drop to 45F. If it’s going to drop to 32F or colder, will I need to provide a heat source? The tree and greenhouse are in full sun, and it gets very warm very quickly in the morning when the sun hits it.

Pursue peace

Body
Pursue peace with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14) An argument broke out at the diner. Disagreements were common at Tuesday breakfast, but this was becoming a doozy. The guys hadn’t gotten this into it since the one over college baseball. But Electric cars? There were strong feelings about that. The idea was crazy to one group. There had always been gas engines.
