Body WEEK Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Nala. She is the queen of the cattery. She spends her time wandering around every morning, talking to the other cats, and exploring. We occasionally find her lounging around atop the cat condos or windowsill.

Body October 7, 2014, marked the first ever National Night Out in Alpine. This annual event focuses on building the community and promoting police and community partnerships along with neighborhood camaraderie.

Body The Tri-County Voter Promoters will be hosting several voter registration events this coming week. They will be set up in several locations to allow prospective voters to register prior to the November 7 election.

Body The Texas Well Owner Network, TWON, will host four upcoming meetings for communities in West Texas October 10-13. These meetings will allow residents of Fort Stockton, Pecos, Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis, Van Horn, and Sanderson to screen their personal water wells.

Body The Noyce en la Frontera Research Initiative for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Education at Sul Ross State University will lead several opportunities to study and view an annular eclipse Friday, October 14.
