Katharine Ann Crockett Davis was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a gifted concert pianist whose rich alto voice was often lifted to praise Jesus Christ. Katharine took her final bow at home in Alpine, Texas on October 21, 2022. She was surrounded by her family who will especially miss her wisdom, her smile, her turkey and gravy, and her infectious laugh.

29th annual Artwalk spotlights West Texas artist

Artwalk Alpine, West Texas’ longest running arts festival, will be happening in the main streets of Alpine Nov. 18-19. In its 29th year, Artwalk Alpine will be highlighting the works of many west Texas artists and celebrating the arts along with several local businesses.

Henington prevails in county judge’s race

In Tuesday’s midterm general election, the heated battle over the governorship of Texas has finally reached its conclusion. Republican and incumbent candidate Greg Abbott collected 54.9% of the votes to Beto O’Rourke’s 43.8%. The other two candidates on the ballot for the state’s highest office, Libertarian Mark Tippetts garnered 1% of the votes, while Green Party candidate Delilah Barrios collected 0.4% of the votes.
