It is Cinco de Mayo today, and colorful and festive celebrations of Mexican-American culture and heritage will be rampant in Alpine this weekend. Residents and visitors will come out to mark the occasion with parades, fiestas, mariachi and Tejano music, and Mexican fare sure to tantalize anyone’s taste buds.
Early voting for the City of Alpine, Alpine ISD Board of Trustees, and two proposed Texas constitutional amendments is over, but voters can still go the polls on Saturday, May 7. During in person early voting, 425 cast ballots in the city election, 78 in the AISD election, and 459 in the constitutional amendment election.
