At the last Alpine City Council meeting, our Interim City Manager reported on our infrastructure that is in need of repair or replacement. This will be a costly undertaking. The infrastructure has been neglected for many years, and with growth comes the realization that there is need for major improvements, and the interim city manager is tasked with how that will be accomplished.

Recently Texas passed the Safe Outdoor Dogs Act that enforces humane guidelines for restraining pet canines outdoors. Unfortunately for me, the act fails to impose similar guidelines for the treatment of grouchy husbands and embarrassing dads.

The National Park Service, Big Bend National Park, and the FBI El Paso Field Office, Alpine Resident Agency Office, is seeking information from the public about a missing Fort Stockton man and child who were last seen on Jan. 28.
