Lara signs with Sul Ross

Aaron Lara was an offensive lineman for the Fightin' Bucks who had great success over the course of his high school career. Congratulations go out to him as he has been chosen as the newest member of the Sul Ross State University football team, and has signed his letter of intent.

Along with several teammates, offensive lineman Lara received a Second Team All-District Selection award for the 2020 season.

Both of Lara's parents are Sul Ross alumni, so the choice was easy when selecting a school to play football. His father, Jessie, was born and raised in Alpine, and his mother is from Marathon.

Lara is undecided on a career path, and said he will figure that out along the way like so many others do. He is most excited to be able to follow his love for football, and follow in his parents’ footsteps.

Lara said Alpine was special to him, adding, "It's my home, and everyone treats each other as family. That is something that is important to me."
