After two tough losses this past week, the Lady Bucks will try to turn things around on the road over the next three games. They've only won one District contest so far, although every other team in the standings has at least one loss after four games.
On Jan. 17 in Kermit, Alpine fell behind quickly, and only scored 13 points in the first two quarters. Their shooting improved in the second half of a 62-38 loss.
Tuesday night was a different story early on. Presidio arrived with lots of blue supporters, and the packed Buck Dome was loud. A Daniella Estrada three-pointer knotted the game up at 7-7 after one quarter. Nora Carrasco and Jaiden Portillo scored in the second, and Alpine led 15-11 at halftime.
The Lady Devils came alive in the second half however. They pressed the Bucks, forced some turnovers, and outscored Alpine 20-5 in the third quarter. Presidio went on to win 46-31.
The Lady Bucks play at Crane on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before two straight trips to another time zone in Anthony and Tornillo.
