On July 9, the Alpine o6 Cowboys and Roswell Invaders finished their four-game set, the Cowboys looking to split it.
In the top of the second inning, an Eli Gallego single moved Angel Martinez to third base. Martinez scored on an error, making it 1-0 Cowboys. In the same inning, Lance Meyers contributed an RBI double to make it 2-0, and a Paul Ludden RBI triple made it 3-0 Cowboys.
In the bottom of the second, third, and fourth innings, the Invaders scored four runs combined, and lead it 4-3. In the top of the fifth inning, a Brandon Pugh RBI groundout tied the game at 4.
There was no more scoring until the top of the tenth inning, when a John Giakas RBI groundout made it 5-4, and Martinez walked with the bases loaded, making it 6-4 Cowboys going to the bottom of the 10th. The Invaders tied the game in the 10th on a Kyle Peralta two run homerun. This game went to the eleventh inning.
In the bottom of the 11th inning, Giakas stroked an RBI single, making it 8-6. Matt Terrones came on for the save in the bottom of the 11th.
The Cowboys won the final game of the series 8-6 before the All-Star break held in Garden City, Kansas.
On July 12, the Cowboys started a five-game series against the Garden City Wind at their ballpark. The Cowboys next play at home on Monday, July 17, against the White Sands Pupfish, with the first pitch at 7 p.m.
