Cowboys headed for playoffs

On July 28, the Alpine o6 Cowboys clinched first place in the Mountain Division by defeating the Roswell Invaders. Playoffs will start 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Kokernot Field.

With first place in the Mountain Division already clinched, the Alpine Cowboys and Roswell Invaders turned Saturday's final game of the regular season into a fun scrimmage, where fans saw pitchers in the outfield and the infield, regular offensive players taking a chance on the mound, and a lot of fun all around. Even manager Austin Prott and assistant coach Matt Lynn, came in and got an at-bat.

A fun time was had all around, and the Cowboys would drop the game 7-3 with nothing on the line playoff wise. The winner of the Roswell Invaders-Trinidad Triggers series will travel to Alpine to take on the Cowboys starting Thursday, Aug. 3, for a three-game series.
