Happy New Year!
This year I am a bit late in rounding up the troops for Relay for Life. Let me apologize.
Over the past year I have been reminded more than ever why I Relay. It was a very difficult year ending in heartbreak for my family.
My heart goes out to all of those who are currently battling cancer or acting as a caregiver and hoping against all odds that someone will win the battle.
Please join me this year in the fight, encourage other teams to join the fight and encourage survivors to register for the event so that we can celebrate their success.
This Year’s Relay For Life Event will be from 6 p.m. to 2 p.m. on April at the Sul Ross track.
The theme this year is: Color the Town Purple.
I challenge each team to select a color ribbon (or multiple colors) that represents a specific cancer and decorate your team site in that color. I will be looking for the team with the most team spirit!
This year we are looking to have the inflatables again as they were very popular last year!
We also will have our second Miss Relay pageant.
Thank you for all you do. One person can, without a doubt, make a difference. Imagine the difference that many can make.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 386-0600.
