Lucila “Lucy” Leos, born and raised in Alpine, Texas, passed away on Jan. 22, 2020 at her place of residence in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on Jan. 30, 1947.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adan Leos, and her mother, Enedina “Nina” Cobos, from Alpine.
Surviving family members include her sister Linda Cobos in Abilene, Texas, along with aunts and uncles in Dallas, Texas; Alpine; Sonoma, California; and Lubbock; and many cousins all over West Texas, along with her step-sisters and step-brother whom she dearly loved. They will miss her so much!
She was picked up on Sunday mornings as a young woman to attend the Nazarene Church on North 11th Street in Alpine, and she later attended Mt. Sinai Methodist Church on Gallego Street. She was always receptive of God’s word and prayer, and one of her favorite gospel songs – How Great Thou Art - are the memories.
Lucy always made it a point to visit all her family while in town for the holidays with a cheerful spirit and the music in her car, hugging everyone and having great conversation. A memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Mausoleum Chapel-Memorial Park, 5740 West 19th Street in Lubbock, with the Reverend Oscar Cobos officiating.
