The Big Bend Cowboys took three of four games against the Coastal Kingfish last weekend, capping things with a shutout on Sunday.

In the first game on July 15, the Cowboys sizzled in a 16-5 matchup.

The teams split a double-header on Friday, with the Kingfish snagging the first game 12-5, but the Cowboys rallied in the 7 p.m. show and shut out the visitors 6-0.

The home team rallied again Saturday in an action-packed 13-9 contest, and closed the busy four-day schedule on Sunday with a 7-2 win, keeping the Cowboys on top in the Continental Baseball League.

The Cowboys host the Desert Valley Mountain Lions in a four-game home stand at Kokernot Field, starting today (Thursday, July 22) at 7 p.m.; Friday’s and Saturday’s games also start at 7, while Sunday’s game starts at 2 p.m.

The championship 2-of-3 series is scheduled for July 29-31 at Kokernot Field, and each game will begin at 7 p.m. If there are any rain-outs, they will be made up on Aug. 1.

There are still plenty of tickets available for the remaining games; chair-back tickets are $6 and bleacher seats are $5.
