Some of you may be familiar with the Latin maxim lex orandi, lex credendi. Translated it means the law of prayer is the law of belief. What we pray ultimately shapes our belief. What you believe about God will also shape the disposition of your prayer life.

The Big Bend offers some of the most spectacular and scenic views around, not only for visitors and tourists, but also for those who call this area home. While many enjoy hiking or exploring the terrain on the ground, there’s another choice for those who want to catch a bird’s eye view of some of the most beautiful country in West Texas.

U.S. Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) joined fellow Texas lawmakers in introducing legislation to reimburse farmers and ranchers for damages and vandalism that occurred on their property due to the illegal immigration crisis.

Hummingbird migration is in full swing in the Big Bend, and the annual Davis Mountains Hummingbird Celebration will mark the tiny critters’ return. And although field trips have already filled, there’s still lots for bird lovers to see and do in Fort Davis.

Being a member of the Boy Scouts of America has always been a tradition where kids develop leadership and goal-oriented skills that promote responsibility and values they will take with them throughout their lives. And now current and future Scouts can enjoy all that in their own backyard.

On July 28, Senators John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Alex Padilla (D-California) introduced legislation that would designate the Blackwell School National Historic Site in Marfa. Representatives Tony Gonzales (R-TX 23) and Filemón Vela (D-TX-34) will reintroduce companion legislation in the House.
