Longino “Leo” H. Olvera Jr., 62, of Fort Stockton was embraced with open arms by his mother at their Eternal Home on July 20. Leo was surrounded by his loving sisters during his final moments of life.

Leo was born on November 26, 1960, in Kermit to Longino Herrera Olvera Sr. and Antonia Garcia. He attended school in Marathon. Leo was employed by Pecos Memorial Hospital for 17 years. He began his career with PCMH in the Housekeeping/ Maintenance Department before

transferring to the Food Service Department.

Visitation will be held at Eternity Funeral Home, Fort Stockton on Thursday, July 27, from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 28, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fort Stockton, with Father Francis Njoku officiating. Burial will follow immediately at the Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home.

Longino is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Joe and Angel Olvera, two nephews Angel Olvera Jr., and Derek Mark Olvera, two great nieces Savanah Elaine Pineda and Ella Rae Olvera.

Longino is loved and survived by his 4 sisters: Mary Lou Lara, Lupe Olvera, Anna Zamudio, and Cissy (Hector) Salmon, Sister-in-law Maria Olvera, and a slew of nephews, nieces, extended family, friends, and his PCMH Family.

The pallbearers will be Domingo Lara, David Olvera, MJ Salmon, AJ Olvera, Dominic Lara, and Thomas Olvera.

The family of Leo wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to Pecos County Hospital-ER staff, Pecos County Hospital-Hospice Staff, Fr. Francis Njoku, and all our dear family and friends that have been there for us in this time of sorrow.
