SOUTHERN PIMENTO CHEESE

INGREDIENTS 1/3 cup mayonnaise 3 tablespoons cream cheese, at room temperature 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons hot sauce ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper ½ teaspoon kosher salt ¼ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper 16 ounces of Sharp Cheddar cheese 2 (2-ounce) jars, diced pimientos, drained DIRECTIONS In a medium bowl, stir together the first eight ingredients until smooth. Fold in the pimentos and the cheese.

Native Plant Society continues plant sale

The Big Bend Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas is continuing its plant sale for an additional week, as we have a number of fantastic plants still available. It will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at Forever West Texas, 308 West Avenue E in Alpine. There will be native plants, including desert-adapted flowering plants, perennials, and shrubs, available. Experts will be on hand to answer your native plant questions.
