Body The Alpine Independent School District was recently awarded a $1M grant focused on fostering student wellness and belonging.

Body The Big Bend District FFA Leadership Contest was held Monday, November 13 at the Sul Ross Range Animal Science Center. The contest included FFA chapters competing from Alpine, Buena Vista, Crane, Fort Davis, Fort Stockton, Iraan, Pecos, and Wink.

Body The annual Blue Santa toy drive, sponsored by the Alpine Police Department is off to a great start this season thanks to the generosity of the American Legion Big Bend Post #79. The Legion presented a check to APD Chief Darrell Losoya to purchase gifts.

Body The Sul Ross State Lobos played their season opener in Las Cruces against the Division I New Mexico State Aggies. This exhibition game was played at the Pan American Center last Wednesday night in front of a crowd of over 4,000 and was broadcast on ESPN+.

Body The Sul Ross Lady Lobos hit the Pacific Northwest last weekend for two non-conference games to start off their 2023-2024 season at the Kim Evanger Raney Classic in Walla Walla, Wash.
