Football at Alpine High sees some new faces

Football two-a-days have come and gone, and the Alpine Fightin’ Bucks are ready to begin their season. Starting quarterback Trey Ervin feels confident that his team will rally around him to get the job done. He is excited for the upcoming season with many experienced players coming back onto the field, although it is bittersweet since this is his senior year.

Service announces final recovery plan for fescue

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced the final recovery plan for Guadalupe fescue (Festuca ligulata), a grass listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. The final recovery plan includes criteria for determining when Guadalupe fescue should be considered for down listing and for delisting, and names site-specific actions necessary to meet those criteria.

Marfa Lights Festival to celebrate 35th anniversary

Marfa has always boasted a rich history and a vibrant arts community, and a much beloved festival is right around the corner, a place where Marfa residents celebrate a tradition every year during Labor Day weekend. This year the festival will be celebrating a special milestone - the 35th anniversary of its inception.
