At their regular meeting on Nov. 23, Brewster County commissioners approved a request by Sheriff Ronny Dodson for a discretionary exemption from competitive bidding for the purchase of two new patrol vehicles.

On Nov. 29, The Stable owner Dave Durant presented a $12,000 check to Alpine Christian School, funds raised by Durant’s 2021 Octane-Fest event in October. The old Terlingua Store, located near BJ’s RV Park on FM 170, got a new lease on life as a yoga studio, now called Terlingua Store Yoga. Kate Healy, a licensed yoga instructor and massage therapist, led the initiative to transform the space, backed with lots of community support.
