Approximately 75 AHS graduates from the 50s and 60s gathered this past weekend in Alpine to renew old friendships, share stories and enjoy Alpine. Organizers for the event were: Janith Stephenson, Lolly Lockhart, James Vest, Bake Turner, Lucila Valenzuela, Darryl Mueller, Charles Tuck, Foster Rich and Sharon Ledbetter. Classmates had fun decorating Bake Turner’s truck and trailer for the float and tossing goodies to children along the route. Alumni Steve Sledge and Dinah Sue Turner Sledge provided a gentle ride for the group on the float. The Friday night football game in the beautiful Buck Stadium brought a flood of memories of playing football and performing with the band under the lights. Bake Turner led the exes in their own special hearty cheers for the Bucks. Johnny and Charlene Ripley, Henry Ogletree and Oliver O’Bryant entertained those who were not up to the game with lively music at the Holland Hotel.
