TERLINGUA - Truth and falsehood can be two sides of the same story; sometimes they are the same thing.

Last Minute Low Budget Productions announces the opening of "True West" by Sam Shepard.

Chris Lee and Billy Miller play brothers Austin and Lee, sons of a desert-dwelling misfit. Achiever Austin is working on a Hollywood film script, but brother Lee, a demented petty thief, has ideas of his own for the project.

On Broadway, Philip Seymour Hoffman and John C. Reilly alternated playing the brothers at each performance.

The traditional LMLB opening gala will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 13. The show will run at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays from Jan. 13-15 and 20-22 at the Behind the Store theater on Highway 170 in Terlingua.

Last Minute Low Budget Productions is a non-profit community theater troupe based in Terlingua. It has been staging productions in South Brewster County since 1989.

The production of "True West" will be staged at the chili cookoff venue behind the Terlingua Store, where the troupe has performed for many years.

"While it is great to have a place to act 50 weeks out of the year, it is not a real theater and is not climate-controlled," said Sarah Bourbon of LMLB. "Money is being raised for the construction of a new home - the Mercury - on land donated by Terlingua Fire and EMS on Highway 118, which will be built specifically as a theater.

Donations toward this project may be mailed to Last Minute Low Budget Productions, Box 522, Terlingua, TX 79852.
