Erminia Covarrubias, 73, of Alpine, Texas, passed away at Odessa Medical Center on March 5, 2018.

Rosary was recited on March 10, 2018, followed with Mass of Christian Burial. Graveside service was at the Holy Angels cemetery. Fr. Beto Lopez officiated. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Minnie was born in Alpine on April 26, 1944, to Tomas and Luciana G. Vega. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband Jose V. Covarrubias; daughters Jacki Moses, Nayeli Acosta, Lillian Marie Acosta, and Esther Benavidez; sons Samuel Acosta, Vidal Acosta, and Cornelio C. Vega; brothers Palemon Vega, Jesus “Chuy” Vega, Tomas Vega, Romulo Vega, and Jose Luis Vega; two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Luciana Vega; a sister, Corina Muniz; and a brother, Alberto Vega.

Lady Bucks looking forward to improvement

Alpine High School senior Keyshla Vargas has pitched the majority of Alpine's innings this season, and often plays third base when she isn't on the mound.
