William Vasquez Quintana

William Vasquez Quintana, beloved father, brother, and grandpa, was called home on May 3, 2019.

Willie, as all his friends knew him, was born in Marfa, Texas on Aug. 11, 1940 to Margarita Vasquez and Mateo Quintana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Armida B Quintana, and his sister Magge Lee Lujan.

Willie is survived by his brothers Mateo Quintana of Marfa; Jimmy (Patsy) Lujan of Del Rio, Texas; Antonio (Cecilia) Lujan, and Armando Lujan, all of El Paso, Texas; his four children William Quintana, Jr. (Vangie) of Port Orchard, Washington, Cesare and Wesley Quintana of Marfa, and Bella Villanueva of Edinburg, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and his very special friend Ms. Delia Granado.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His hobbies included doing research about the Tri-County area, and his favorite was being on the Marfa radio. He was a car salesman for many years, and made many friends.

Arrangements are under the care of Sunset Funeral West by Chris Lujan, his beloved nephew. Services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 10 a.m.

Bucks fall to Hawks in Quarterfinals

Leftfielder Travis Ruckman had assistant coach Hugh Morrissey fired up during game one of the Regional Quarterfinals on May 17 in Midland. His third inning two-run single gave Alpine an early lead against Wall who went on to score 35 runs in two wins over Alpine.
