‘Vision for Alpine’ forum for citizens to voice opinion

Public announcement

A “Vision for Alpine” public forum and barbecue are planned for 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Alpine Community Center, 402 E. Gallego Ave.

Every citizen, elected official and member of the city staff of Alpine are invited to this forum and barbecue to share their ideas, opinions, and visions for the future of our city.

Ward 2 City Councilwoman Johanna Nelson and ReViva Collective are hosting the event.

Members of ReViva Collective, a community group made up of students and citizens, will be on hand to record and transcribe comments, ideas and concerns.

Notepads will be available for those who wish to write down ideas. Comments also may be e-mailed to revivacollective@gmail.com, and a drop-off box has been placed at 305 W. Gallego Ave.

All ideas and “visions” will be recorded and compiled into a presentation that will given to the City Council at a later date.

The information collected will be available to anyone who requests it, Nelson said.

A light barbecue will be served; vegetarian and vegan options will be available. As much of the food as possible will be locally grown and produced. There also will be live music.
