Alpine band students among selections for region honors

One Alpine High School student and five Alpine Middle School students made the Region 6 All-Region Band.
Competition was held last week in Midland.
At the high school level, Emily Hendryx took second chair on the flute. She also qualified as All-Area, which means she will travel to Lubbock in January to audition for a place in the All-State band.
Students from Alpine Middle School making All-Region include:
€ Rosemary Davis, third chair, bass clairnet in the honor band
€ Gus Arbogast, fifth chair, French horn, symphonic band
€ Ariana Montes, seventh chair, French, horn, symphonic band
€ Autumn Ofenstein, 12th chair, clarinet, symphonic band
€ Ashley Curtis, seventh chair, French horn, concert band
An estimated 285 band students entered the competition in Midland.
