Paisano Baptist Encampment to Celebrate its 86th Consecutive Year Paisano Baptist Encampment will be holding their 86th consecutive General Encampment, beginning Sunday evening, July 23, and continuing until Noon on Friday, July 28, 2006. Morning Worship Service will be held at 11 a.m. daily, and Evening Worship Service begins nightly at 8 p.m. Supper is served at 6 p.m. with choir rehearsal at 7 p.m. Childcare is provided during services. They welcome you to join them The Camp Pastors this year are Steve Wells and Milton Cunningham. Rev. Wells currently pastors South Main Baptist Church in Houston and will attend with his wife, Missy, and their three children. This will be their first visit. Dr. Cunningham and his wife, Barbara, will return to Paisano, as they have for the past several years. Although, Dr. Cunningham "retired" in 1999, he is still very involved in activities at Baylor University, including acting as the coordinator of special projects.His sermons are always lively and applicable to daily living. This year, Larry McGraw will again serve as Bible Study leader. McGraw and his wife, Sandy, have attended for several years. McGraw's subject matter and teaching style are sure to be as entertaining as they are educational. A native of Wichita Falls, McGraw serves as Professor of Bible and Associate Dean of Logsdon School of Theology at Hardin-Simmons University. Between services, there will be several activities available for everyone throughout the day. These activities are designed to create strong muscles and deep friendships that last for generations. Paisano Baptist Encampment encourages family togetherness and spiritual renewal. In addition to the General Encampment, Paisano Baptist Encampment also hosts a variety of camps for our youth. Youth Camp, specifically for children who have completed the 6-12 grade, was from June 12-16t. City, County to help purchase fire truck The city of Alpine and Brewster County have agreed insure that the Alpine Volunteer Fire Department has a ladder truck in the near future. Ranch Rodeo scheduled for August The 2006 Ranch Rodeo of the Big Bend is scheduled for August 11-13 in Alpine. Teams from near and far have send in their entries and are loading their horses. Chuck wagon cooks from all over the state of Texas are on their way and there will be "Six White Horses" from Hardin-Simmons University. You do not want to miss one of the best events in Alpine.
